Job is a full time temporary position with potential to become permanent after introductory period. Duties Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures using electronic medical records (EMR) systems Handle administrative tasks including insurance eligibility, referrals, and care coordination with attention to detail Schedule appointments efficiently while managing cancellations and follow-ups to optimize clinic flow Collect and verify patient information, including preliminary testing and medical history relevant to ophthalmology Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality Assist with optical services by helping patients select eyewear, taking measurements, and providing basic optical support based on retail sales experience Manage inventory of optical supplies and laboratory materials to ensure smooth daily operations Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries about medical terminology, anatomy knowledge related to eye health, or senior care needs Qualifications Prior experience in ophthalmology or clinic environments is highly preferred; familiarity with EMR systems Terminology, physiology, anatomy related to eye health, and HIPAA compliance standards Experience in retail sales or retail management, especially within optical or healthcare settings, is advantageous Knowledge of medical billing, coding procedures, and laboratory experience enhances your ability to support clinical workflows effectively Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse patient populations including pediatrics and senior care clients Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated professionalism in managing sensitive medical records and adhering to aseptic techniques during clinical procedures This role offers a vibrant work environment where your proactive approach and dedication will directly impact patient satisfaction.
