We are a physician-owned private ophthalmology practice offering comprehensive eye care in a warm, patient-centered environment. Our approach is grounded in treating every patient like family—with compassion, respect, and a commitment to clinical excellence. Led by a highly trained and experienced ophthalmologist, our office is poised for steady growth and innovation.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our small but growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a close-knit workplace culture, wants to make a meaningful impact, and is eager to grow alongside the practice. Your contributions will directly enhance the patient experience and support high-quality clinical care.
Responsibilities:
Greet and prepare patients for examination, taking detailed ocular and medical histories Measure visual acuity, intraocular pressures (tonometry), and perform preliminary testing (e.g., autorefraction, lensometry, color vision testing) Administer eye drops and dilation agents as directed Assist with diagnostic imaging (OCT, fundus photos, visual fields, etc.) Document findings accurately in the EHR system Assist with minor in-office procedures and patient education Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and equipment Ensure instruments are sterilized and maintained properly Collaborate with the physician to ensure smooth patient flow and exceptional care Be flexible and proactive in helping the practice grow and improve
Qualifications:
Prior experience as an ophthalmic technician preferred but willing to train the right individual Strong interpersonal and communication skills Compassionate, patient-focused attitude Comfort working in a dynamic startup environment Ability to multitask and adapt to changing needs EHR experience preferred (we use ModMed) Commitment to learning and growing with the practice
