Job Description

Holland Eye Surgery and Laser Center has provided quality care in west Michigan since the practice was founded in 1952. With both a Clinic and Surgery Center on site, we provide each patient with compassionate, state-of-the-art medical and surgical eye care. Our doctors, nurses, and staff work together as a tightly knit team built on collaboration and trust. We understand the value of work-life balance and offer flexibility along with a premium compensation and benefits package. It is crucial for candidates to bring a strong work ethic, ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, intellectual curiosity, and a high level of character and integrity. Our average staff tenure is over 10+ years, with many team members spending over 20 years with us. This is truly an opportunity for a long-term, fulfilling career. Staff are cross trained to perform clinical and administrative duties, and rotate positions throughout the week to gain full end-to-end experience with practice workflows.
Clinical Responsibilities:
Utilize a variety of equipment to perform technical workups depending on appointment type. Document patient medical history, complaints, etc. in EHR system. Communicate with and guide patients through the steps of their appointment while maintaining an accurate and efficient workflow. Maintain equipment and exam rooms to promote a clean and safe environment. Collaborate with doctors on all things patient care.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Check-in and provide patients direction upon arrival. Pay attention to details of patients arriving today, while building out notes for the next day. Check-out patients and schedule follow-up appointments, while collecting co-pays and money owed. Record all patient payment activity for the day accurately, balance batch, submit bank deposits, etc. Provide phone support when patients call in with general questions. In addition to standard clinical and administrative duties, staff are delegated crucial support tasks such as ordering office supplies, coordinating various practice system needs, etc. Additional opportunities arise to grow and learn other roles in the practice where necessary such as scribing, insurance coordination, and surgery tech positions.
Schedule:
Holland Eye offers full-time and part-time positions, and we do not work evenings, weekends, or holidays.
Pay:
Our pay scale is tied to industry benchmarks based on certifications, experience, and cross-training proficiency. We encourage and provide resources for various certifications and professional designations for our team to pursue - ensuring they have transparency to, and are paid commensurately for the levels they reach. We ensure our team is paid above the 50th percentile benchmark for their job level. We also pay end of year discretionary bonuses.
Core Competencies:
Talent:
Cultivating the intellectual curiosity to continuously develop in our craft, not allowing any room for complacency.
Positive Attitude:
Striving to be a dynamic problem solver, not just a problem reporter. Utilizing our unique talents to inspire and empower others through the unexpected challenges of the day.
