Job description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate ophthalmic technician to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent patient communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment.
Responsibilities:
Obtain and document patient histories and chief complaints. Perform pre-exam testing, including visual acuity, tonometry, pupil testing, and visual field screening. Assist with specialized diagnostic testing such as OCT, photography, keratometry, and refraction. Prepare patients for examination and educate them on eye drops, eye conditions, and postoperative instructions. Support the physician during procedures and help maintain exam room readiness. Record findings accurately in the electronic medical record and follow compliance guidelines.
Key Qualifications:
Prior ophthalmology or medical experience preferred COA, COT, or related certification preferred Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical office protocols Strong communication, organization, and computer skills. Ability to work well in a fast-paced clinical setting
