Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Ophthalmic Technician, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and support ophthalmology professionals in delivering exceptional eye health services. This vital role combines technical proficiency with compassionate patient interaction, ensuring smooth clinic operations and accurate medical documentation. We are also offering a $400 signing bonus. Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and updating electronic health records (EHR) systems such as EMA Basic ophthalmic assessments to assist ophthalmologist in diagnosis and treatment planning Conduct optical experience tests, including visual acuity, refraction, and intraocular pressure measurements using specialized equipment Assist with clinical procedures, maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality Manage medical records, ensuring accurate documentation of procedures, diagnoses, and billing codes for efficient medical billing and coding processes Qualifications Proven experience in ophthalmology/optometry or medical office settings, with a strong foundation in patient care and clinical procedures Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health and pediatrics when applicable Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for documentation and data management Understanding of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient privacy at all times Ability to perform intake assessments and basic ophthalmic testing accurately Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages.
