Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting medical history, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic and other EMR platforms Measure vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and visual acuity to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning Prepare patients for eye examinations by performing preliminary tests such as refraction assessments, pupil responses, and ocular motility evaluations Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure infection control and compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality Support optical services by assisting with frame selection, lens measurements, and retail sales of eyewear products Manage medical records accurately, ensuring proper documentation of procedures, diagnoses, and billing codes in accordance with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and coding standards Provide front desk support by scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and managing clinic flow efficiently Experience Prior experience in a medical office setting or ophthalmology clinic is highly preferred Knowledge of ophthalmology procedures, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology is essential for success in this role Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms is required for managing electronic health records effectively Experience with medical billing and coding processes ensures accurate documentation for insurance claims Retail sales experience combined with strong math skills enhances the ability to assist patients with eyewear purchases confidently Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA standards is crucial Previous clinic experience working with pediatric populations (pediatrics) is a plus for engaging young patients effectively Join us to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through attentive care and professional excellence.
