This position supports physicians by performing ophthalmic diagnostic testing, assisting with procedures, documenting patient information, and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming clinic environment. Schedule Monday-Friday Start time between 7:45 AM and 9:00 AM 8.5-hour shifts with a 30-minute lunch Must be able to work one backup shift and one late shift per week Must be able to travel to Warren and Shelby Twp locations What You Will Do Patient Care & Clinical Support Greet patients and explain what to expect during their visit Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for evaluation Perform diagnostic ophthalmic tests and procedures, including: Visual acuity testing Tonometry Lensometry Eye muscle function testing Pupil size and reactivity assessment Apply ophthalmic drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes Assist physicians with minor surgical procedures, intraocular injections, and laser treatments, including preparation for sterile procedures Scribe for physicians during patient exams as needed Documentation & Compliance Accurately document patient chief complaints, present illness, and medical history Enter and maintain complete and accurate patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system in accordance with physician and clinic standards Safeguard patient information and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Patient Education & Communication Proactively communicate with patients regarding visit expectations, delays, or changes Educate patients on medication administration and pre- and post-operative instructions as directed by physicians Utilize effective problem-solving skills to respectfully de-escalate patient concerns Clinic Operations & Teamwork Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment, including sterilization and cleaning of equipment Demonstrate basic knowledge of eye anatomy, ocular diseases, symptoms, and medications Stay current with new technologies and treatments and respond to general patient questions Assist team members and complete special projects as assigned What You Bring Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds Preferred Qualifications Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems Knowledge of medical terminology COA COT Experience Level Entry-level position; typically 0-3 years of experience What We Offer Competitive wages Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, life, and short- and long-term disability insurance Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) program Seven (7) paid company holidays 401(k) retirement plan with company match Uniform reimbursement A culture centered on People, Passion, Purpose, and Progress An inspirational and supportive work environment About Midwest Vision Partners Midwest Vision Partners was founded in 2019 to build a premier eye care platform in partnership with Alpine Investors, a San Francisco-based private equity firm.
