We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Contact Lens Technician to support our eye care team. This role is responsible for assisting patients throughout the contact lens fitting process, providing education on lens wear and care, managing inventory, and supporting daily clinical operations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering outstanding patient service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Contact Lens Services & Patient Support Assist providers with contact lens evaluations, fittings, and follow-up appointments. Obtain and record measurements necessary for contact lens fitting. Instruct patients on proper insertion, removal, cleaning, and maintenance of contact lenses. Monitor patient progress and communicate concerns regarding lens fit, comfort, or vision. Maintain complete and accurate patient documentation in the electronic medical record. Inventory & Order Coordination Submit and track contact lens orders with manufacturers and laboratory partners. Monitor inventory levels of trial contact lenses and related supplies. Manage product expiration dates, stock replenishment, exchanges, and returns. Clinical & Administrative Duties Operate ophthalmic equipment such as slit lamps, keratometers, and other diagnostic instruments as directed. Assist with appointment scheduling, patient communications, and coordination of care. Support billing processes and payment collection. Update and maintain electronic health records in accordance with clinic standards. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
Qualifications:
Required High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise tasks. Proficiency with basic computer applications and data entry. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented healthcare setting. Willingness to learn and participate in on-the-job training. Experience documenting in electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Preferred One to three years of experience in optometry, ophthalmology, optical retail, or a related healthcare environment. Associate degree in a healthcare or science-related field. NCLE certification, or interest in obtaining certification with employer support. Pay:
$29.00 - $34.00 per hour
