Job Description

Clinic Technician We are growing and looking for a new team member! No experience needed. We will train you! Our office is a fast paced environment and patient focused. If you like working with a patient focused team and have good communication skills and a positive attitude, this may be the opportunity for you! Clinic Technicians are responsible for assisting Optometrists in multiple areas. Clinic Technicians review patient information, take case histories, note chief complaints, update personal and family health histories, medications and ocular health histories in our EHR system. Clinic Technicians are tasked with performing pre-screening tests including: checking blood pressures, pulse, performing auto-refractions and auto keratometry, visual field screenings, measuring eye pressures (tonometry), performing i-wellness screenings, various OCT tests, visual acuities and taking digital retinal images using the clinic Optomap. Clinic Technicians are also responsible for maintaining and sanitizing all instruments, exam rooms and counters after use. As well as ordering and maintaining contact lenses for patients and clinic trial stock. The ideal candidate would like working with patients and have strong communication and time management skills. Due to a constantly full schedule of patients, reliability is a must. We expect our clinical technicians to be reliable and professional.
Minimum Qualifications:
English skills (reading, writing, and speaking) sufficient to effectively deal with diverse individuals in a variety of different situations. Word Processing skills, including managing PDF documents, typing, printing, scanning and faxing of documents as well as email capabilities. Ability to manage computerized inventory for retail products. Communication skills (in person, by phone, in writing) sufficient to provide excellent customer service to patients, co-workers, Doctors, vendors, and other key people as necessary. Math skills sufficient to estimate cost of goods to patients prior to ordering materials. Requires constant multi-tasking in fast paced office setting with much of the time spent on your feet and in constant motion between exam rooms and special testing areas. Very little time is spent sitting at a workstation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work well under pressure, organize workload and prioritize tasks to meet patient and/or the needs of the Doctors. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in which the parts are always moving and changing. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and be flexible in responding to changes in work assignments. Ability to handle Protected Health information with discretion. CNA or PCA work experience is helpful.
