We are seeking an Optician who enjoys helping people, takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service, and is excited to play an important role in both the clinical and optical sides of our practice. What You'll Do As our Optician, you'll help lead the optical department while also assisting with patient care throughout the office. This is a hands-on role that combines leadership, sales, patient education, and clinical support. Optical Responsibilities Help patients select frames and lenses that fit their vision needs, lifestyle, and budget. Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and eyewear products. Oversee optical inventory, frame ordering, merchandising, and displays. Manage eyewear and contact lens orders to ensure accuracy from order placement through delivery. Troubleshoot patient concerns and help create an exceptional experience from start to finish. Support optical sales goals while maintaining a patient-first approach. Assist with training and mentoring team members. Clinical & Patient Care Responsibilities Welcome patients and guide them through their visit. Obtain patient histories and prepare patients for examination. Perform diagnostic testing and imaging, including retinal photography, OCT scans, visual fields, and other testing as directed. Assist with contact lens fittings and follow-up care. Provide contact lens insertion and removal training for new wearers. Educate patients on proper contact lens care and eye health. Help maintain efficient patient flow and support the doctor throughout the day. Administrative Responsibilities Assist with scheduling and patient communication. Verify insurance benefits and explain coverage to patients. Process payments and maintain accurate records. Help ensure smooth daily operations throughout the office. What We're Looking For A positive, friendly personality and a genuine desire to help people. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask in a busy healthcare environment. Previous experience in optical sales, optometry, ophthalmology, or healthcare is preferred. Experience with contact lenses, diagnostic testing, or optical management is a plus. Pay:
$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
