About the Role As an Ophthalmic Assistant at HQ Eyes, you will play a key role in supporting ophthalmology providers in delivering high-quality eye care services. You will assist with patient intake, vision testing, clinical documentation, and in-office procedures while ensuring an efficient and positive patient experience. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent patient communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced specialty clinic environment. Schedule Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Based at HQ Eyes in Hannibal, MO. No weekends or holidays. Specialty ophthalmology clinic environment focused on patient care and vision health. Primary Responsibilities Room patients and obtain visual history, measurements, and screening information. Perform preliminary vision testing and ophthalmic diagnostic procedures. Assist providers with examinations and in-office procedures. Prepare and maintain exam rooms and ophthalmic equipment. Document patient information accurately within the electronic medical record. Coordinate appointments, referrals, and follow-up care. Educate patients regarding pre- and post-visit instructions as directed. Maintain inventory and assist with ordering clinical supplies. Support patient flow and ensure an efficient clinic experience. Perform other duties as assigned to support ophthalmology operations. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. CPR certification required (available upon hire). Previous ophthalmic or clinical experience preferred but not required. Strong communication and patient service skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced specialty clinic environment. Comfort with vision testing equipment and clinical procedures (training provided). Experience with electronic medical records preferred. Commitment to patient-centered care. The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.92 - $25.38 per hour , with actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through bonuses and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
