Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Summit Eye Care. In this role, you will assist a remote Optometrist in providing high-quality eye care to patients. You will perform various clinical tasks onsite, ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. Your expertise in optometry procedures and patient care will be essential in delivering exceptional service. Part-time, 2 days/week.
TUESDAYS 10AM - 5PM SATURDAYS 10AM - 5PM
Responsibilities Conduct preliminary eye examinations and gather patient medical histories. Assist with diagnostic tests, including visual acuity tests, tonometry, and retinal imaging. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation within an electronic health record (EHR) system. Prepare patients for remote examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort. Utilize aseptic techniques when handling optometric instruments and equipment. Use video conferencing software to interact with the Optometrist during patient consultations. Ensure efficient patient flow during appointments. Assist with medical billing processes as needed, ensuring accuracy in coding and documentation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with optometry practices and procedures is highly desirable. Knowledge of eye anatomy and vision health is a plus. Proficiency in medical records management and understanding of medical billing is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Basic computer skills and familiarity with video conferencing software are required.
