Our practice offers the latest fashionable frames and advanced contact lenses to meet diverse patient needs. Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician/Receptionist to join our team. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy optometry setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong patient care skills, medical office experience, and a passion for delivering outstanding service while supporting clinical operations. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with patient intake processes efficiently. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen levels, ensuring accuracy and adherence to aseptic techniques. Prepare patients for examinations by performing preliminary testing, including visual acuity assessments and ocular measurements. Maintain accurate medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist in optical procedures by understanding basic ophthalmology concepts, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to eye health. Support clinic operations by managing front desk responsibilities, scheduling appointments, and handling retail sales of eyewear and contact lenses. Uphold infection control protocols through proper aseptic technique during clinical procedures and equipment sterilization. Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure seamless patient flow and deliver exceptional care tailored to pediatric and adult patients. Experience Prior medical office experience with familiarity in ophthalmology or optometry clinics is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to eye health, and medical coding/billing practices is advantageous. Experience working with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms is desirable. Demonstrated ability to perform intake procedures, vital signs measurement, and maintain detailed medical records accurately. Background in retail sales or front desk operations within healthcare or retail environments is beneficial. Strong organizational skills combined with excellent communication abilities are essential for success in this role.
