Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care by assisting optometrists with various clinical tasks and ensuring a smooth workflow within the practice. Your responsibilities will include patient intake, conducting preliminary tests, and maintaining accurate medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Duties Perform patient intake procedures, including gathering medical history and vital signs Assist optometrists during examinations by preparing patients and conducting preliminary tests Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and clean environment for patient care Maintain and manage medical records using EMR systems such as Epic Provide education to patients regarding eye health, procedures, and eyewear options Support front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow Handle retail sales of eyewear and optical products while applying retail math principles Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient clinic operations and high-quality patient care Stay updated on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology relevant to optometry Experience Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and experience: Previous experience in a medical office setting or clinic environment Familiarity with ophthalmology practices and optical experience is highly desirable Knowledge of medical coding and billing processes is a plus Experience working with pediatric patients is beneficial but not required Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient care and customer service Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks We invite you to apply if you are passionate about eye care and committed to providing exceptional service in a dynamic healthcare setting.
