The Role:
Expectations & Responsibilities As an Ophthalmic Technician, you'll play a critical and direct role in our patients' care experience and support our doctors in diagnosing and treating patients.
Your responsibilities will include:
Test and record patient's visual acuities, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color vision Perform diagnostic tests and studies pertaining to the eye including, but not limited to, tonometry, slit lamp evaluations, fundus with auto fluorescence, anterior and posterior OCT, OCTA and visual fields Administer eye drops for anesthesia, dilation, and medication Triaging emergency cases and maintaining efficient patient flow Practice appropriate infection control and universal precaution protocols Accurate electronic medical record documentation and following office protocols Maintain the confidentiality of patient records and health information What we're looking for is an individual who: Is excited about excellence, growth and a long term opportunity A continuous learner, because this is a satisfying career Is an excellent communicator—both written and verbal Enjoys independent daily interactions with patients and thrives in a customer service role Is dependable, collaborative, and brings a positive, can-do attitude Can adapt easily to change, be flexible and go with the flow Possesses optical knowledge, basic screening experience and has utilized an electronic medical record system
