Opthalmic/Optometric Technician NC Eye Associates Apex, NC Job Details Full-time $18 - $20 an hour 10 hours ago Benefits Paid training Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Employee assistance program Vision insurance Employee discount Professional development assistance Life insurance Qualifications Interpersonal skills Ophthalmology Attention to detail Clinical documentation Full Job Description The Ophthalmic Technician is responsible for preliminary testing and diagnostic testing for all patients. This employee will also assist in any procedures performed by the doctor. Experience working in an optometry or ophthalmology office is required. Schedule is Monday-Thursday.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides pre-testing including refraction before the doctor's examination Provides advanced diagnostic testing for certain conditions/diseases Manages patient flow throughout the day in an efficient manner Provides a calming demeanor throughout the exam process to help comfort patients Interprets and documents a quality patient case history Prepares medical equipment before opening and closing down at the end of day Prepares, cleans and discards equipment before and after medical procedures Educates the patient on insertion and removal of contact lens Assist with fitting as well as insertion/removal training of scleral lenses Must work well with others and be a team player
Qualifications:
Optometric or Ophthalmological experience required . Experience refracting is a plus Experience using many different diagnostic tools i.e. OCT, VF, Pachymeter, Topographer, etc… Ability to multi-task and a strong sense of urgency Friendly and detail-oriented Strong communication and problem-solving skills Must present a professional appearance Must possess a drive to learn Scleral lens and Dry Eye Disease experience preferred (LipiFlow, IPL, TearCare, etc.) Benefits include paid training, paid vacation, holidays, 401K and medical coverage.
