Your Day in This Role As our Optical Fiber Process Control Technologist, you'll start your shift on the cleanroom floor—reviewing key process indicators, scanning for trends, and prioritizing issues to keep our PCVD, OVD, and Etching operations stable and productive. You'll partner with engineering to eliminate recurring equipment problems, dive into 5-Why analyses to uncover root causes, and lead or support upgrades that boost reliability. When an urgent fault occurs, you'll either repair the system yourself or guide remote responders with clear direction. You'll capture what you learn in crisp procedures, coach teammates to strengthen skills across shifts, and help orchestrate smooth startups and shutdowns.
Schedule Schedule:
Hiring for flex-40 shift, Monday-Friday. What You'll Do Be the go-to support for your primary process areas; assist additional areas as assigned by your manager. Monitor process data and KPIs daily/weekly to identify trends, influences, and repeating patterns. Lead root cause analyses on process drifts and recurring equipment issues; implement sustainable fixes. Support and execute equipment upgrades and continuous improvements. Repair equipment or provide remote repair guidance in emergencies; occasionally provide off-hours support. Train and mentor TSAs, PCLs, and others; deliver feedback that builds capability across shifts. Author and refine preventive/corrective maintenance procedures and documentation. Assist maintenance and engineering during plant shutdowns and startups. Ensure products meet the Plant's Quality Management System requirements; follow ISO 14001 and
ISO 45001 EMS
guidelines and all safety procedures. Work safely with chemicals including Germanium Tetrachloride, Silicon Tetrachloride, Chlorine, and Hydrofluoric Acid. Uphold exceptional housekeeping across offices, production areas, and maintenance spaces. Perform other duties as assigned by management. PCVD, OVD, and Etching Focus For PCVD, OVD, and Etching areas: completion of the Advanced Chemical Operator (ACO) Certification is required (see list of requirements). What You'll Bring Comfort working at heights, in confined spaces, and on ladders; able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and stand for the full shift.
