Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support ophthalmologists in providing exceptional care to patients, assisting with various clinical and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations are highly desirable. Responsibilities Assist ophthalmologists during patient examinations and procedures. Prepare patients for exams by obtaining medical history and performing preliminary tests. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on eye care, treatment options, and post-operative instructions. Manage inventory of ophthalmic supplies and equipment. Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and processing insurance claims. Experience Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, particularly in ophthalmology Familiarity with medical coding and insurance processes is beneficial. Knowledge of aseptic technique and maintaining sterile environments is a plus. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
