About the Role We are hiring a Lead Technician to serve as the day-to-day leader of our 13-person technician team. This is a people leadership role first. You do not need a background in eye care — we will provide full clinical training. What we are looking for is a proven leader who can inspire, motivate, and bring out the best in a team. You will report directly to the Clinic Administrator and play a key role in keeping our clinic running smoothly across both our ophthalmology and optometry services. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and support a team of 13 technicians Oversee daily workflow, scheduling, and exam lane operations Serve as the primary contact between the technician team and the Clinic Administrator Train and onboard new technicians; support ongoing staff development Address performance, communication, and morale issues proactively Collaborate with physicians and management on process improvements Perform ophthalmic and optometric pre-testing as part of on-the-job training Required Qualifications Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Commitment to excellent patient and customer service Openness to learning clinical skills on the job Preferred Qualifications Experience leading teams of 10 or more Background in healthcare or a clinical setting Familiarity with workflow or operational management Candidates from outside the eye care industry are strongly encouraged to apply.
