Ophthalmic Technician

Ophthalmic Technician Morristown, NJ 07960 From $23 an hour - Full-time From $23 an hour - Full-time Immediate opening for a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmic Technician/Scribe for a fast paced two surgeon practice. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience in Ophthalmology with direct experience in Retina.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Advanced knowledge of ocular anatomy, medical terminology, diseases of the eye and patient charting
• Obtain comprehensive patient history and complete work up for eye exam (ie: visual acuity, pupil testing, motility testing, ocular function, tonometry & visual fields)
• Administer topical ophthalmic medications
• Ophthalmic photography (ie: OCT, FA, Fundus photos)
• Use and maintenance of ophthalmic instruments and sterilization equipment
• Preparing patients for minor procedures and ocular injections
• Triage of patient calls
• Assisting with Laser, Cryo and Pneumatic procedures
• Acting as scribe
• Counseling patients with surgical preparation, Rx use and Amsler grid
• Certification helpful
• EHR experience required, NextGen helpful.
