Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optical Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care services. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will support optometrists and ophthalmologists by assisting with patient care, managing optical products, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages, from pediatrics to senior care, while leveraging your knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and optical systems to enhance patient experiences. This paid role offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced healthcare setting dedicated to improving vision health. Greet patients warmly and assist them through their eye care journey, ensuring comfort and clarity at every step Manage optical inventory, including selecting frames, lenses, and accessories; perform retail sales with excellent customer service skills Assist in maintaining accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on eyewear options, lens technologies, and proper eye care routines while promoting retail products effectively Support clinic operations by scheduling appointments, processing medical billing and coding, and managing patient flow efficiently Prior experience or familiarity with optical environments or clinic settings is preferred; laboratory experience is a plus Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times Ability to perform vital signs measurements and basic clinical procedures accurately Retail management skills including retail math for sales transactions and inventory control Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively across diverse age groups including pediatrics and senior care populations Knowledge of medical billing practices and medical coding standards related to ophthalmology services Embark on a career that combines healthcare expertise with retail acumen in a vibrant environment committed to enhancing vision health.
