Our providers specialize in comprehensive eye care, cataract surgery, corneal disease, dry eye treatment, refractive surgery, specialty contact lenses, and the management of complex ocular conditions. We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing clinical team. Position Summary The Ophthalmic Technician is responsible for assisting physicians and optometrists in providing exceptional patient care while maintaining efficient patient flow throughout the clinic. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment. ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties Obtain and document patient medical and ocular histories Measure visual acuity and perform preliminary testing Conduct diagnostic testing including: Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Corneal Topography Visual Field Testing Pachymetry TearLab Testing Specular Microscopy Fundus Photography Perform lensometry and assist with contact lens evaluations Administer ophthalmic drops and medications as directed Prepare patients for examinations and procedures Assist physicians with in-office treatments and minor procedures Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, and postoperative instructions Accurately document findings within the electronic medical record (EMR) Administrative Duties Maintain exam room cleanliness and equipment readiness Coordinate patient flow to maximize efficiency Assist with scheduling and patient communication as needed Support the clinical team in delivering an exceptional patient experience QualificationsRequired High school diploma or equivalent Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment Basic computer proficiency Preferred Previous ophthalmic, optometric, or healthcare experience Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology and diagnostic testing Experience using electronic medical records Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and paid holidays 401(k) retirement plan with company match Continuing education and certification support Professional development opportunities Supportive team-oriented work environment Schedule Full-Time Monday through Friday No evenings or weekends Why Work at Center for Eye Care Excellence?
