Job Description

•This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $2,500 Join the Cleveland Clinic team where you will work alongside passionate caregivers and provide patient-first healthcare. As a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, you will support the Ophthalmologist by performing various clinical and administrative tasks throughout the department. You will assist with direct patient care as directed, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and at ease throughout their appointment and exam. In this role, your ability to facilitate a welcoming environment can make a difference in the lives of Cleveland Clinic patients every day. A caregiver in this position works 8:00am to 4:30am or 7:30am to 4:00pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Receive and prepare patients for examination or treatment. Perform routine screening tests. Document patient information in the patient medical record. Perform stocking, maintenance and other related duties as assigned, including maintaining exam rooms, equipment and supplies. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma/GED Successful completion of the Certified Ophthalmic Assistant written exam Recent graduate of an Ophthalmic Technology Program Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO). One year of experience providing direct care under the supervision of an
Ophthalmologist Physical Requirements:
Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and PC. Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds. May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting. Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.
