OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN
Requirements:
The Ophthalmic Technician is responsible for providing support to attending physicians for patient care including but not limited to preparation of examination and treatment rooms. Performing pretesting such as autorefraction, visual field screening, patient history, and visual acuity. Administering eye medications as needed, cleaning, and maintaining ophthalmic instruments. Assisting physicians with patient care as needed.
Other Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Work with well with clinic team to help ensure an efficient clinic workflow is maintained. Coordinate with the physicians and Clinical Director regarding patient issues or needs. Resolve patient concerns, complaints, or questions. Coordinate repairs or replacements of damaged equipment. Ensure clinical documentation supports coding. Assist in cleaning duties, side work, and any non-workup duties as required within the clinic. Perform correct electronic medical record usage and follow HIPAA standards. Follow all site-specific policies including attendance, dress code, ethics codes, etc.

Clinic Director and Physician/Founder CEO Working Conditions and Environmental/Physical Demands:
Standing/walking 95% of the day to perform the essential job duties. Full body rotation (i.e., bending, stooping, twisting, etc.) Ability to lift at least 20lbs. Communicating with others to exchange information. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. No adverse environmental conditions expected.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent. Ophthalmic technician experience or certification preferred. Experience with electronic medical record a plus
