Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician and/or Front Desk member to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the optometric practice. This position involves working closely with patients, performing preliminary eye exams, and assisting the optometrist in various clinical tasks. A strong background in patient care and familiarity with medical systems will be ideal for success in this role. Responsibilities Conduct preliminary eye exams, including measuring visual acuity and taking patient histories. Assist patients with contact lens fittings and provide education on proper usage and care. Perform diagnostic tests such as visual field testing, tonometry, and retinal imaging. Record patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms and equipment. Collaborate with the optometrist to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care. Experience Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly in ophthalmology or optometry BUT is not required. Knowledge of medical billing, coding, and retail math is a plus but not necessary. Familiarity with vital signs assessment and basic physiology knowledge will be beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients of all ages. Ability to work well within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
