Our patients travel from across Oklahoma and the United States to receive specialized ophthalmic care from our fellowship-trained ophthalmologists and residency-trained optometrists. Our practice specializes in premium cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, general ophthalmology, and cutting-edge clinical research. We are seeking a motivated, professional, and compassionate Spanish-speaking Ophthalmic Scribe to join our growing team. Position Summary The Ophthalmic Scribe works closely with physicians to document patient visits accurately and efficiently while supporting clinic workflow and patient care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and fluent in both English and Spanish. Responsibilities Accurately document physician-patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR) Assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures Prepare examination rooms and maintain clinic flow Obtain and document patient history and information Perform basic ophthalmic testing and vision screening as needed Communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients and families Maintain HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation standards Assist with patient questions and coordinate care needs Support clinic operations, cleaning duties, and other team responsibilities as needed Maintain professionalism and excellent customer service at all times Qualifications Fluent in both Spanish and English (required) High school diploma or equivalent Experience in ophthalmology or medical scribing preferred Ophthalmic technician experience or certification is a plus Experience with EMR systems; ModMed experience preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude Willingness to learn ophthalmic procedures and terminology Skills & Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication Strong attention to detail and accuracy Positive and professional demeanor Ability to work efficiently under pressure Initiative and adaptability Commitment to exceptional patient care Physical Requirements Standing and walking throughout most of the workday Frequent bending, twisting, and repetitive hand movements Ability to lift up to 20 pounds Benefits Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401(k) Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays Competitive pay based on experience and certification Schedule Monday-Friday Day shift No weekends Work Location In Person - Oklahoma City, OK
