Job Description

Overview We are seeking a reliable, dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient care by assisting optometrists in various clinical tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, proficiency with electronic health record systems, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinic environment. Duties Assist optometrists during eye examinations by performing preliminary tests and gathering patient history. Measure and record vital signs, including visual acuity and intraocular pressure. Utilize Epic systems for managing patient records and scheduling appointments. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information. Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic. Provide support at the front desk, including greeting patients and managing check-in/check-out processes. Educate patients on proper eye care practices and assist with eyewear fittings. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient clinic operations, particularly in pediatrics settings. Experience Previous experience as an Optometric Technician or in a similar clinical role is preferred. Familiarity with ophthalmology practices and procedures is highly desirable. Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team. Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus, enhancing our ability to cater to diverse patient needs. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are critical for maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring high-quality care.
