Job Description
We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and people-oriented Ophthalmic Technician with experience in Ophthalmology or Medical Optometry to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical foundation, excellent interpersonal skills, and a desire to work in a small, patient-centered practice where teamwork and patient satisfaction are highly valued. You will be responsible for activities related to daily patient care and flow, including patient work-ups, diagnostic testing, and assisting in medical procedures. You should be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment and demonstrate exceptional people skills. •Rare opportunity to join an independent practice where you are highly valued and encouraged to develop and expand your skills and knowledge, and to grow with the practice.•Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive ophthalmic workups, including: Visual acuity testing Tonometry Pupil assessment, motility, confrontation visual fields, and refraction Conduct advanced diagnostic imaging and testing, such as: Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Fundus photography and autofluorescence Fluorescein angiography Visual field testing Accurately document findings in the electronic medical record (EMR) Assist physicians during in-office procedures (e.g., intravitreal injections, laser treatments) Ensure equipment is maintained, calibrated, and ready for use Help maintain smooth clinic flow and uphold high standards of patient care Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years of experience as an ophthalmic technician (retina experience strongly preferred) Certification (COA, COT, or higher) preferred Proficiency in ophthalmic diagnostic testing and EMR systems Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment Professional, reliable, and compassionate demeanor Benefits Competitive compensation commensurate with experience and certification level Opportunities for career advancement within a growing retina practice Supportive and collaborative team culture Schedule 20-40 hours per week 3 days a week (~20 hours) in clinic with t for candidates that bring experience in other valuable administrative skills, such as prior authorization, medical billing, or marketing No evenings, weekends, or major holidays How to Apply Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter highlighting your ophthalmic experience and interest in joining Main Line Retina.
