a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is hiring an Ophthalmic Technician to support the Division of Pediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus, and Adult Motility at 4075 Monroeville Blvd, Suite 125 Specialty Suite, Monroeville, PA 15146. a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } This position works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and may be required to provide coverage at other clinic locations as needed. The Division of Pediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus, and Adult Motility at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is comprised of 4 clinic locations and one administrative space, all working as a team to provide the highest level of care to patients and families through clinical expertise, research initiatives, and strong administrative support.
Responsibilities:
History taking to include ocular, medical, medication, social and family.

Visual acuity assessment: with and without correction, distance, near and intermediate, pinhole, best corrected, potential acuity, brightness acuity
Lensometry:
automated and manualPupillary assessment: measurement, compare and evaluate.

Visual fields: Amsler grid & confrontation fields
Ocular Motility:
Knowledge of the functions & anomalies, cover tests, stereo-acuity, nystagmus
Refractometry:
auto-refractor, transposing scripts from + to -
Tonometry:
ICare, Tonopen and the care and proper disinfection of each.

Supplemental skills: Color testing, glare testAngle assessment & dilation of pupils.

Contact lenses: insertion, removal, and instructions.

Assist with maintaining office inventory, notifying appropriate staff when supplies are needed, restocking exam rooms, cleaning and sterilizing of instruments and cleaning patient exam rooms at end of day.

Travel to other clinical sites.
