Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometric Technician, where your enthusiasm and precision will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinic operations. In this vital role, you will assist optometrists by preparing patients for examinations, conducting preliminary tests, and managing medical records with accuracy and compassion. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the intake process to ensure smooth clinic flow Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and visual acuity to provide accurate preliminary data for the optometrist Prepare patients for eye examinations by performing tests like refraction, color vision screening, and intraocular pressure measurement using aseptic techniques Maintain detailed medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times Assist with optical procedures including lens measurements and frame adjustments while providing excellent customer service in retail sales of eyewear products Support clinic operations by managing front desk responsibilities, scheduling appointments, and handling medical billing and coding processes Uphold strict infection control protocols through proper aseptic techniques during all patient interactions and equipment handling Skills Strong understanding of patient care principles combined with excellent communication skills to create a positive patient experience Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and security of medical information Experience with intake procedures, vital signs collection, and medical records management in a clinical environment Familiarity with ophthalmology procedures, anatomy of the eye, physiology concepts, and medical terminology relevant to eye health Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for documentation and record keeping Retail sales experience coupled with retail math skills to assist patients in selecting eyewear options confidently Ability to work efficiently at the front desk while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinic setting Basic understanding of medical coding and billing processes related to ophthalmic services Embark on a rewarding career path where your energy fuels exceptional patient experiences!
