Technician Primary Location:

Hours:
Full-time, Non-exempt Educational Level:
High School Diploma or GED Required Experience:
At least 1 year of experience in the medical field
Preferred Experience:
At least 1 year of experience in ophthalmology Retina Consultants of Carolina, the Upstate's premier Retina specialists for over 25 years is looking for a great candidate to join our team as an Ophthalmic Technician (OT). The Ophthalmic Technician works closely with the physicians and other technicians to provide high-quality care to each patient of the practice. Duties include performing preliminary testing, properly documenting chief complaint and medical history, overseeing patient flow, preparing patients for procedures, and scribing for physicians.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills Effective communication with patients, physicians, and co-workers Willingness to learn and master new tasks and processes Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment Time management skills Basic computer skills
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Visual acuity testing Pupillometry screening Tonometry testing and reading Ocular motility examinations Working knowledge of ocular photography techniques (OCT, Fundus, etc.) Our practice has a detailed training program that gives each new employee the tools they need to succeed as well as dedicated trainers.
