Job Description

Ophthalmic Technician 8609 Montague Lane, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588 $19.50 - $25.00 an hour $19.50 - $25.00 an hour The ophthalmic technician position is a great opportunity to work directly with patients and physicians in delivering care to our patients. Our technicians report high levels of satisfaction with their roles because they help save people's sight each day. This role gathers information from patients, takes images, notates information into patient charts, and helps set up exams and treatments - and much more. We will train the right candidates. Compensation:
$19.50 - $25 hourly
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather vital information for physicians. Capture high-quality images and diagnostic data to assist in accurate patient diagnosis. Maintain detailed and accurate patient records to ensure seamless continuity of care. Prepare examination rooms and equipment, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. Assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures, enhancing patient experience. Educate patients about their conditions and treatment plans, fostering understanding and trust. Coordinate with team members to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively across locations, including Little River, Murrell's Inlet, and Lake City.
Qualifications:
Experience in triaging patients and accurately documenting medical histories. Ability to perform prescreening exams and check vision effectively. Proven track record of administering medications and providing patient education. Familiarity with tonometry, dilation, and various diagnostic tests such as Fundus photos, OCT, and Visual Fields. Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) while adhering to HIPAA standards. Capability to assist physicians with ophthalmic procedures and maintain medical/surgical supplies. Strong understanding of basic healthcare terminology and patient communication platforms like NexTech and Pressia On-Call, or similar systems.
