Job Description

OPTOMETRIC TECHNICIAN ABOUT
The Spectacle Shoppe is a private optometry practice located just south of downtown Franklin. Our mission is to provide our patients with an exceptional experience using the latest technology, high quality products, and personalized care. We are looking to add a team member to our consistently growing practice to assist in the care of our patients.
EXPECTED CANDIDATE QUALITIES
At least 2 years of prior optometry or ophthalmology experience is required. Interested candidates must understand the concept of being part of a team, be committed to a high standard of customer service and to the continued growth of our successful practice. Candidates should be friendly, have strong verbal and written communication skills with patients and teammates, always maintain a high level of integrity and respect in the office, be detail-oriented and an active problem solver. Strong computer skills are required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide a high-quality patient experience in an efficient manner Pretest patients including auto-refraction measurements, tonometry, lensometry, Optomap retinal imaging and checking visual acuities Obtain/Enter patient medical history and pretest data into our EMR system Perform ancillary/special testing as needed Assist in ordering contact lenses through each respective vendor with accuracy and efficiency Assist in maintaining contact lens trial inventory Train new contact lens wearers on insertion/removal techniques Liaison for doctor/patient communication Maintain general appearance and cleanliness of pretest and exam rooms Maintain exam and contact lens supplies Assist in chart preparation Assist in answer phones/scheduling appointments as needed
