Job Description

Job Overview Optical Technicians are responsible for helping patients achieve the right type of eyeglasses in accordance with their eyesight or eye conditions. You will be educated and trained in order to have a thorough understanding of the different types of optical aids available.
Your duties will include:
Interpreting the results of eye examinations, using prescriptions written by our Optometrists Advising patients on frame style, color and fit Recommending lenses, coatings and material based on their specific needs Taking necessary measurements to include in patient orders Adjusting frames so they fit properly Repairing frames Communicate with lens labs and frame representatives Check in orders and dispense to patients Staying up to date on all lens technology and frame fashions. Requires the ability to present and sell the product Qualifications Prior experience in optical sales is highly preferred, including familiarity with optical equipment and laboratory processes but not required Strong general computer knowledge and ability to learn multiple systems Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times Retail sales experience beneficial for assisting patients with eyewear selections and retail management skills including retail math Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to patients of all ages Join us in delivering compassionate eye care.
