Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometric Technician, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care. In this energetic position, you'll assist optometrists by preparing patients for exams, conducting preliminary tests, and managing medical records. Your proactive approach will help ensure a smooth patient experience while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Duties Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage intake processes, including collecting medical histories and updating patient information in electronic medical record (EMR). Measure vital signs and perform basic eye assessments to support the optometrist's diagnostic process. Maintain aseptic technique during clinical procedures to ensure patient safety and infection control standards are upheld. Support the front desk by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and managing patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency. Handle medical records with accuracy, ensuring proper documentation of exams, diagnoses, and billing codes aligned with medical coding and billing practices. Qualifications Prior experience in medical office settings or optometry clinics is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health and pediatrics. Demonstrated ability to perform patient care tasks such as taking vital signs and conducting intake assessments confidently. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy at all times. Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with patients, team members, and vendors. Experience with optical equipment and procedures is advantageous. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
