  • Full-time Job Description Looking to hire a bilingual highly motivated, personable, and accountable Ophthalmic Scribe interested in working directly with our patients and physicians in order to accurately maintain patients' medical records and provide additional testing as needed.
Ophthalmic Scribe experience is preferred but, not required as long as the candidate is a fast learner, has a positive attitude, and is open to instruction. We have three offices and travel to all three are required (Austin, Kyle and Oakhill).

Spanish DUTIES:
To Accompany the physician upon patient interview and examination and input the patients' information accurately into their medical record. Traveling between our three locations depending on physician needs on a regular basis. Document the physician dictated patient history, including history of present illness, review of systems, past medical and surgical history, family and social histories, medications and allergies under direct physician supervision. Document the results of laboratory and radiographic studies as dictated by the physician. Maintain and demonstrate an understanding of the team approach to patient care and documentation. Complete additional ophthalmic testing on patients as needed (training provided on-site).
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Must be a good-listener, with attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to type 50 WPM or above preferred. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to document patient care as dictated by a physician in a legible and clear manner, following all local, state, and federal guidelines for documentation. Demonstrates an ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in accordance with governing HIPAA regulations. Ophthalmic Scribe Certification preferred but, not required. Familiarity with inputting patient information into an EMR system preferred but, not required.
