This energetic position involves assisting our doctors with patient evaluations, performing diagnostic tests, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and conduct intake procedures to gather relevant medical history Perform patient pre-testing (auto-refraction, OCT, visual fields, etc.), visual acuity, intraocular pressure Assist doctor during exams and procedures Scribe when needed Maintain efficient patient flow while delivering an elevated patient experience Educate patients on treatments and eyewear options Maintain strict aseptic techniques during all clinical procedures to ensure patient safety and comply with HIPAA regulations Manage medical records efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, handling patient inquiries, and managing retail sales of eyewear products Collaborate with the team to ensure clinic operations run smoothly, including inventory management of optical supplies and retail items Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, and proper use of prescribed eyewear or medications Qualifications Prior experience in a medical office setting or ophthalmology clinic is preferred (willing to train the right candidate) Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health Familiarity with optical equipment such as slit lamps, autorefractors, and visual field analyzers Ability to perform intake procedures accurately while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines Experience with EMR systems or similar platforms for documentation and record keeping Excellent patient care skills with a friendly, professional demeanor Basic retail math skills for managing eyewear sales and inventory control Knowledge of medical billing and coding processes related to ophthalmic services is a plus Pediatric experience is advantageous for working effectively with young patients Join us in making a difference through exceptional eye care!
