Full Job Description Responsibilities:
  • Assist optometrist with patient care, including taking patient history and performing preliminary tests
  • Conduct visual field tests, color vision tests, and other diagnostic tests as directed by the optometrist
  • Prepare patients for examination by dilating pupils and administering eye drops
  • Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care
  • Perform basic retail math calculations for contact lens orders
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems
  • Adhere to aseptic techniques when handling instruments and equipment
  • Provide excellent customer service and assist with sales of eyewear and contact lenses
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a related field preferred
  • Knowledge of ophthalmology, pediatrics, and physiology
  • Proficiency in taking vital signs such as blood pressure as needed
  • Familiarity with retail math calculations for eyewear sales
  • Experience with electronic health record systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient care Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
