Job Description

The Finishing Department Technician is responsible for the final stages of lens production, including edging, mounting, and final inspection. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail and adherence to guidelines ensure lenses are properly fit to frame specifications and meet all quality standards. The ideal Candidate must have Minimum 5 years in an optical finishing Lab using multiple edging devices in a high volume or high environment. Key Responsibilities Edging & Finishing / Mounting & Assembly Operate edging machines and assemble lenses into zyl, metal, nylor, and drill mount frames. Ensure proper sizing, bevel placement, alignment, and fitment. Perform grooving, polishing, and handle complex jobs including high minus, high plus, and wrap frames. Quality Control / Troubleshooting Inspect finished jobs to meet standards, identify and correct issues, troubleshoot machine and job-related problems, and take ownership of final product quality.
Equipment / Process
Improvement Perform routine maintenance on various equipment in the Finishing Department and identify workflow improvements, reduce errors, and support best practices.
Communication / Safety
Maintain records, communicate issues and trends, collaborate with team members, and follow all safety protocols.
