• Job Overview:

• We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with patient care and administrative tasks in a busy optical practice.

• Duties:

• Provide exceptional patient care and support the optometrist during examinations, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for patients.
• Conduct pre-examination tests, including visual acuity, cover tests, and retinoscopy, under the supervision of the optometrist.
• Perform aseptic techniques and handle medical equipment to maintain a high level of hygiene and infection control.
• Prepare and maintain patient records, including vital signs and medical histories.
• Utilize medical coding and retail math skills to accurately process payments and manage inventory.
• Assist with sales and marketing efforts, promoting the practice and its products to patients.
• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology to understand patient needs and provide tailored recommendations.
• Maintain a clean and organized office environment, adhering to industry standards for cleanliness and safety.

• Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a related field is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in medical coding and retail math.
• Familiarity with sales techniques and the ability to work well with patients.
• Ability to follow aseptic technique and maintain a clean environment.
• Valid certification in phlebotomy or a related field is an asset.
