Job Description
About us Eye Associates of Texas Comprehensive Ophthalmology Cornea, External Disease & Refractive Surgery Ophthalmology office looking for experienced ophthalmic technician. Outstanding verbal & written communication skills and excellent customer service skills are required. You must be a multi-tasker and detail oriented. Medical or ophthalmic experience and Spanish language proficiency is preferred. Please provide references upon application. Computer literacy required and experience with EMR and Nextech EMR preferred. Duties will include
- Work up of patients: Obtain Complete Medical History, Ocular History, Chief Complaint and HPI
- Diagnostic testing: Visual acuity, intraocular pressure (tonopen), OCT, and fundus photography
- Knows how to or is willing to learn how to do refraction, applanation
- Cleaning and care of ophthalmic instruments
- Stocking rooms
- Scribing
- Medical insurance verification, appointment scheduling
Compensation:
Dependent on experience- Assists with keeping workplace and office clean. Able to perform light lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Able to type at least 25 wpm, you will be tested on this at the time of interview.
- At will employment.
