The technician is responsible for assisting the physicians with patient care including but not limited to obtaining history and chief complaint, completing the basic work up exam per department protocol, completing ancillary testing per physician order or per department protocol based upon patient complaint. On-the-job training is offered to learn required skills.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Ability to schedule appointments and use practice software Answer phones and help solve patient issues Provide assistance with patient care by performing preliminary screening exams as related to the patient's history and complaint (visual acuity, tonometry, lensometry, motility, pupil assessment, etc.). Document exams and patient interactions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Maintain proper supply levels for the department and within the exam rooms as needed. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to operate necessary instruments and machines to complete preliminary screenings and ancillary testing as needed. Demonstrated computer skills. Hours of the clinic are as follows:
