Open up lanes and diagnostic equipment daily. Replenish office and medical supplies. Make sure to have adequate disposable supplies. Greet patients warmly, answer questions and make them feel comfortable during the exam. Obtain and compose good history including multiple elements. Obtain accurate medication information, including dosage, route of administration, frequency. Check vision at distance. Check vision at intermediate, near, and pinhole vision when needed. Get autorefraction if needed. Read glasses prescription if needed. Check eye pressure by non-contact or iCare. Other in-office testing (i.e. osmolarity, inflamma dry, adeno plus, RAM, color vision, stereo, OCT, pentacam, VF, cell count, fundus photo, ultrasound) Clean and sanitize lane and equipment in between patients. Filling out various medically related forms (work excuse, FLMA, return to work, school excuse etc.) Answer phone calls and communicate with patients and other team members. Schedule patients for various appointments when needed. Database maintanince. Close down office at the end of each day. Clean and sterilize hand held equipment. Maintain inventory of sufficient medical supplies .
