Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and support to our optometrists. You will be responsible for assisting with various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth patient experience, and maintaining accurate medical records. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in patient work-up, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others. Responsibilities Conduct patient intake by gathering medical history and performing preliminary assessments. Assist with the administration of tests related to vision and eye health. Maintain aseptic technique during procedures to ensure patient safety. Utilize EMR systems, specifically Officemate, for accurate documentation of patient information. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient data. Support the front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and managing medical records. Qualifications Previous experience in an optometry office or clinic setting is preferred but not required. Familiarity with optometric procedures and equipment is a plus. Experience with medical coding and billing processes is advantageous. Excellent interpersonal skills to provide outstanding patient care. Experience working with pediatric patients is beneficial but not required. Proficiency in using EMR systems; familiarity with Officemate is highly desirable.
