Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking an additional Optometric and Contact Lens Technician to join our team at Area Eye Center. In this position, you will play a crucial role in providing uncompromising high-quality patient care and support. This role will include working directly with patients to gather information and perform preliminary testing, maintaining and calibrating equipment, educating and training patients in caring for their eyes and contact lenses, and supporting fellow team members
Responsibilities:
  • Preliminary visual/medical testing
  • Assist with patient examinations, treatments, and education
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical record systems
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms with necessary supplies and equipment
  • Contact lens dispensing/ordering
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, verifying insurance information
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members
  • Friendly and caring with a genuine desire to serve our patients and our community
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy
