Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and assisting our optometrists in delivering high-quality eye care services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, along with experience in a medical office or clinic setting. Duties As an Optometric Technician, your responsibilities will include: Conducting patient intake and obtaining medical histories Measuring and recording vital signs Assisting with various diagnostic tests and procedures Maintaining aseptic techniques during examinations Managing patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Utilizing EMR systems such as Epic for accurate documentation Providing optical assistance, including fitting and adjusting eyewear Supporting front desk operations, including appointment scheduling and retail sales Collaborating with the optometry team to ensure smooth clinic operations Experience The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience in patient care within an ophthalmology or optometry setting Familiarity with medical office procedures and terminology Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to eye care Experience with medical coding and billing processes is a plus Retail experience, particularly in optical sales, is advantageous Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics Join our team and contribute to enhancing the vision health of our community while advancing your career in the field of optometry.
