Job Description

Job Posting Title Ophthalmic Technician Job Description Ophthalmic Technician Job Description Responsibilities:
Perform preliminary eye examinations and diagnostic tests under the supervision of an ophthalmologist. Record patient medical history, including any allergies, medications, and previous surgeries. Assist with patient education and provide instructions for post-operative care. Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment for procedures. Perform visual acuity tests, visual field tests, and tonometry measurements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records. Travel Required.
Group Specialty:
Comprehensive, Glaucoma, Cornea, and Retina Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as an ophthalmic technician preferred. Previous experience in a medical setting, preferably in ophthalmology or optometry. Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and procedures. Familiarity with medical coding and billing practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record patient information. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and patient care.
