Ophthalmic Technician / Scribe

Virginia Retina Consultants Position Summary Virginia Retina Consultants is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician and Scribe to join our growing retina specialty practice. This role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys direct patient care, fast-paced clinical environments and close collaboration with physicians. The technician/scribe will support retina specialists by performing diagnostic testing, assisting with patient flow, and providing accurate real-time documentation.. Key Responsibilities Obtain and document patient histories, medications and chief complaints Perform ophthalmic testing including: Visual acuity, IOP measurement etc OCT, fundus photography, FA/ICG as needed Prepare patients for examinations, procedures and intravitreal injections Assist physicians with in office procedures Provide patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort throughout visits. Support front desk operations including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling medical records with confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations Documentation Accurately document exam findings, imaging interpretation, assessments and plans. Ensure charts are complete, compliant and ready for billing and coding Assist with referrals, prior authorizations and coordination of care as needed

Pay:

$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
