Job Description

We are looking for an upbeat Optometric Technician familiar with Optometric pretesting, medical scribing, and exam coding, who is comfortable working in a dynamic environment. Prior Optometric or Ophthalmic experience is preferred. We are a high tech professional office and we are growing daily. Responsibilities
  • Conduct preliminary ophthalmic testing such as visual acuity, visual field testing, ocular imaging, and tonometry.
  • Assist Optometrists in various procedures and examinations.
  • Maintain and clean ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records.
  • Educate patients on eye care and proper use of contact lenses or eyeglasses.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Utilize optical experience to assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear and lens types.
  • Stay updated on advancements in ophthalmic technology and procedures. Qualifications
  • Strong background in Optometry or Ophthalmology settings
  • Proficiency in medical office procedures and terminology
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
  • Experience with EMR systems, specifically RevolutionEHR
  • Familiarity with medical coding and billing practices
  • Excellent patient care skills and ability to maintain HIPAA compliance
  • Previous experience in retail sales or front desk operations is a plus
