Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic ophthalmology team as a Full Time Ophthalmic Technician and become a vital part of delivering exceptional eye care! This energetic role offers the opportunity to work closely with patients, providing compassionate care while supporting the clinical team. You will be responsible for assisting with patient intake, performing vital signs, and supporting ophthalmologists with diagnostic testing and procedures. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with patient intake processes. Prepare and maintain medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic and other EMR platforms. Perform basic ophthalmic tests including visual acuity assessments, intraocular pressure measurements, and slit-lamp examinations. Ensure aseptic technique during all clinical procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Assist ophthalmologists during examinations, diagnostic procedures, and minor treatments. Experience Prior experience in medical office settings or ophthalmology clinics is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms is essential. Demonstrated ability to perform patient care tasks including taking vital signs and assisting with intake procedures. Experience with optical equipment or optical experience is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Retail sales experience or front desk experience that highlights excellent customer service skills is beneficial.
